(CHICAGO)(October 1, 2009) Republican U. S. Senate candidate and insurgent “Internet Powerhouse” Andy Martin launches a major new high-speed rail proposal with a series of town meetings in Mattoon, Carbondale, Effingham and Fairfield. Martin’s schedule follows below.
Martin will also be speaking at Republican Party events and meeting with Republican leaders as he seeks to “blow out” Mark Kirk’s liberal campaign and discredit Kirk’s “anti-family” agenda.
“Years ago the Chicago Tribune called me an ‘absolutely brilliant campaigner,’” Martin says. “Well Southern Illinois is about to receive a blockbuster series of events that puts downstate interests front and center in the U. S. Senate race.
“I want to tie this state together, so that every region is connected to the world economy with a network of high-speed trains. A high-speed rail network will create quality infrastructure, quality jobs and add significant long-term value to the regional economy.
“In the next few days we plan to have a special web site devoted to Southern Illinois needs and concerns. Can my opponents match my knowledge of the area, my concern for its citizens, my commitment to build a 21st century economy for every part of Illinois and not just downtown Chicago? I will be senator for the people of Illinois, not senator just for the mayor of Chicago. Mark Kirk is the ‘Combine’ candidate of wealthy Republi-crats that bleed the economy of this state for their own selfish enrichment.

“The latest slaying of an innocent African-America child should be a wake-up call to the Chicago Mayor and Illinois Governor. If the city and state cannot provide African-Americans with basic personal safety—the ultimate human right—why are these officials in power?
“If necessary, President Barack Obama should send federal troops to protect the right to life of every Chicago child. There cannot be two standards of life, one for minority neighborhoods and another for non-minority neighborhoods.
“I find it incongruous that on a day when Illinois National Guard soldiers were returning from Afghanistan, we needed our Guard personnel in Chicago to restore order here at home.
“With due respect to Superintendent Jody Weis, he has to ratchet up the war on crime and wage relentless war on the gangs and predators who are preying on Chicago’s African-American children. Weis has to take personal ownership of this war, and start leading from the streets, not the safety of his office.
“If newspaper reporter Mark Brown can see where the gangs are lurking, why are police not attacking these encampments and arresting these gangsters?

“If the City cannot protect existing citizens, how are we going to guarantee the safety and security of millions of Olympic visitors?
“I propose that the mayor, governor and president adopt a five-point program to return safety to Chicago’s streets:
“First, I want Superintend Weis out on the streets, personally supervising field operations. He needs to lead from the front, not his headquarters office.
“Second, I want the CPD to put every sworn officer on the streets, and replace desk officers with temps if necessary. Any officer who is authorized to carry a gun should be working outside, on the streets. We need to regain control of this city.
“Third, Cook County needs to hire an emergency allotment of prosecutors and prison guards, and create space for thousands of new prisoners, as well courtrooms for prosecution of these predators. We need to disrupt, disable and destroy the gang elements and criminal elements in minority neighborhoods.
“Fifty years of anti-gang efforts have failed. Failure is no longer an acceptable option.
“Maybe Tod Stronger should fire some of his relatives, and well as other Daley Machine payrollers, and replace them with prosecutors and jail guards. State Attorney Alvarez needs to become more proactive; she has been much too passive.
“Fourth, Governor Quinn should mobilize the Illinois State Police and the Illinois National Guard, and have these forces start patrolling the streets of any neighborhood with excessive crime.
“Fifth, President Obama should order the deployment of part of our ready reserve forces to duty in Chicago. It was a Republican President, Dwight Eisenhower, who sent the 101st Airborne Division to Little Rock, Arkansas to enforce the constitutional rights of African-American students. Republicans were in the forefront of protecting African-Americans then. Republicans should lead again.
“The Daley Machine’s failure to protect minority children is a disgrace to humanity. If the City refuses to do its job, federal troops should be used to protect Chicago’s minority neighborhoods. Republicans need to start raising hell about the hellish conditions in minority neighborhoods. Children living in these areas have a right to life and a right to live. Their lives should not be snuffed out by gangsters operating in plain sight of a Sun-Times reporter.
“As for Barack Obama, the latest tragedy took place in the Altgeld Gardens area, where he was a so-called ‘community organizer’ 25 years ago. Obviously, Obama’s efforts left no lasting impression in the neighborhood. It is time for America’s first African-American president to start taking the protection of Chicago’s African-American children seriously,” Martin will state. “Daley and Obama should be flying to Chicago, not Copenhagen.
”The bottom line: we need martial law in Chicago until the safety and security of every schoolchild is ensured. I realize that these endless, random killings are an emergency situation; they are intolerable. Why can’t Chicago’s and Illinois’s leaders do the same and respond to this unacceptable reality?”

“I think the Internet video is a fair representation of both my own foreign policy views, and the basis for my criticism of both mark Kirk and Barack Obama,” says Andy Martin. “I am a pragmatic Midwestern conservative. We would like to deescalate tensions in the world, and refrain from provoking any more unnecessary wars or ‘nation building.’
“I draw on a reservoir of over forty years of experience in Asia and the Middle East. Unlike Mark Kirk, who seeks to provoke conflict to ‘pump up’ his campaign fund raising, I am willing to support Israel’s nuclear program but not to give Israelis a blank check to launch a preemptive war.
“I support existing Russian-American nuclear de-escalation, but I equally support modernization of our nuclear weapons stockpile.
“I am very focused on counter-intelligence to combat terrorist efforts to obtain weapons of mass destruction. Combating terrorist efforts to manufacture or steal nuclear or biological technology must be our priority.
“Not everyone agrees with my views; most politicians are more ‘gungy’ than I am. They talk of bombing, attacks and war. Unlike Mark Kirk, the pseudo-warrior, I have seen real war, and seen the real costs of war.
“My views are squarely in the mainstream of Midwestern attitudes about new foreign policy initiatives. We don’t want any. Illinoisans are tired to war, tired of the economic impact of war on our state’s economy, and tired of paying the price in blood for indulging both the liberal and conservative adventurism in Washington.
“I believe Illinoisans of every political persuasion want an experienced foreign policy voice that will counsel restraint, not renewed foreign commitments. My experience leads me to support that approach. Although I clearly have a worldwide, not statewide, reputation as a political analyst and columnist, my focus as a senator would be exactly the opposite: using my worldwide experience to avoid any new policies or commitments that would hold back Illinois’s statewide economic progress.
“Unlike Mark Kirk, I will never try to raise the temperature abroad as a cynical maneuver to increase my political fund raising at home. His behavior is disgraceful.
“In the final analysis, I am the only Republican primary candidate with the experience and the credibility to tackle Mark Kirk and bring him down on February 2nd. That’s the inescapable

“I think the Internet video is a fair representation of both my own foreign policy views, and the basis for my criticism of both mark Kirk and Barack Obama,” says Andy Martin. “I am a pragmatic Midwestern conservative. We would like to deescalate tensions in the world, and refrain from provoking any more unnecessary wars or ‘nation building.’
“I draw on a reservoir of over forty years of experience in Asia and the Middle East. Unlike Mark Kirk, who seeks to provoke conflict to ‘pump up’ his campaign fund raising, I am willing to support Israel’s nuclear program but not to give Israelis a blank check to launch a preemptive war.
“I support existing Russian-American nuclear de-escalation, but I equally support modernization of our nuclear weapons stockpile.
“I am very focused on counter-intelligence to combat terrorist efforts to obtain weapons of mass destruction. Combating terrorist efforts to manufacture or steal nuclear or biological technology must be our priority.
“Not everyone agrees with my views; most politicians are more ‘gungy’ than I am. They talk of bombing, attacks and war. Unlike Mark Kirk, the pseudo-warrior, I have seen real war, and seen the real costs of war.
“My views are squarely in the mainstream of Midwestern attitudes about new foreign policy initiatives. We don’t want any. Illinoisans are tired to war, tired of the economic impact of war on our state’s economy, and tired of paying the price in blood for indulging both the liberal and conservative adventurism in Washington.
“I believe Illinoisans of every political persuasion want an experienced foreign policy voice that will counsel restraint, not renewed foreign commitments. My experience leads me to support that approach. Although I clearly have a worldwide, not statewide, reputation as a political analyst and columnist, my focus as a senator would be exactly the opposite: using my worldwide experience to avoid any new policies or commitments that would hold back Illinois’s statewide economic progress.
“Unlike Mark Kirk, I will never try to raise the temperature abroad as a cynical maneuver to increase my political fund raising at home. His behavior is disgraceful.
“In the final analysis, I am the only Republican primary candidate with the experience and the credibility to tackle Mark Kirk and bring him down on February 2nd. That’s the inescapable

(CHICAGO)(September 28, 2009) Most of us have probably seen the recent series of TV commercials by former WBBM-TV anchorman Bill Kurtis. Kurtis goes into historical locations (the “fountain of youth,” Amelia Earhart’s crashed airplane site, etc.) but ignores the important evidence around him and instead “discovers” the Internet.

In 2008, for the first time in his life Pat Hughes “discovered” he was a Republican. Hughes voted in the Republican primary. What took Hughes so long? If he registered to vote at age 18, it took him 20 years to “discover” he was a Republican. Pat’s a slow learner maybe?
Some time in 2008 or early 2009, Hughes made another “discovery.” He “discovered” he was “too busy to be an “attorney.” That was indeed a surprising discovery. Most attorneys hang on to their active law licenses until they die.
But Hughes notified the Illinois Supreme Court he was on “inactive” status. Busy, busy, Pat.
A year after deciding he was a Republican, in 2008, Hughes made yet another discovery. He “discovered” that despite the lack of any personal or political resume, he was U. S. Senator material.
Then the fun started.
Hughes began to campaign with the claim he was an outstanding attorney. There was only one problem with that “fact.” He was an “inactive” attorney. Unfortunately for Pat Hughes he is obviously not a expert on either the Illinois Supreme Court’s Rules or professional ethics.
Fortunately for Hughes, I am an expert.
I made the “discovery” that Hughes was still practicing law, in violation of Illinois Supreme Court Rule 756.
I did my due diligence on Hughes’ background. Why hadn’t Paul Caprio and Jon Zahm done theirs before Hughes announced his candidacy? Were they blinded by Hughes’ wads of cash?
With my new “discovery” that Hughes was no longer an active attorney I filed a complaint with the ARDC, the Supreme Court’s disciplinary and administrative arm.
Since Hughes and I are competing candidates for U. s. Senator, I made a public announcement of my filing.
Hughes, who seems to have more money than brains, then sent one of his paid henchmen out to attack me. Jon Zahm falsely claimed that Hughes was not violating the Court’s rules.
Guess what? I was right.
Hughes has now been forced to reregister as an “active” attorney. His period of inactivity ended when my political activity began.
Thanks to me, Hughes has now made another “discovery” in his life. He has discovered he has to obey the Illinois Supreme Court’s Rules if he wishes to call himself an attorney and practice law. I guess Hughes, who previously claimed he was too busy to be an active attorney, has now decided he is too busy to be an “inactive” lawyer. Go figure.
What will Pat Hughes “discover” next?

Dave Diersen, who is one of the most honest men in Illinois politics, if not the most honest man, and is certainly one of the hardest working Republicans, if not the hardest working, worked himself into a rouladen over my earlier criticism of Hughes and his “consultants.”
As the foregoing episode confirms, Hughes has paid lackeys who lie for him. People who actually know me are aware I have a forty-year record of independence and integrity, fighting corruption in the courts and legal profession [see www.AndyMartin.com for details.].
My pen does not pick favorites. Obviously, there is a lot more to attack in the record of Democrat-cum-Republican Mark Kirk. And I want to defeat Kirk. So most of my barbs are directed at Kirk.
But that does not mean other pretenders and political phonies in the Republican Party are temporarily immune from my criticism. An attorney who lies (don’t they all?) becomes a fair target when he wakes up one morning and “discovers” he should run for statewide office.
By splitting the anti-Kirk vote with a comic book campaign, Hughes is actually helping to nominate Kirk, even while Hughes is also helping to fatten Paul Caprio’s and Jon Zahm’s wallets.
And that’s a “discovery” Illinois Republicans are increasingly making: a vote for Pat Hughes is a vote for Mark Kirk.

“Barack Obama’s foreign policy is lost,” Martin told Al-Jazeera viewers. “Obama over-promises and under-delivers.
“In the real world, the U. S. Congress is not going to vote to disarm Israel. While I am a well-known critic of Israel’s Palestinian policies, there is no way I would vote to disarm Israel or any other country in the region. I strongly support the view that Israel has a right to defend itself from external enemies.
“The nuclear risk today does not come from states, even states led by loudmouthed, obnoxious leaders such as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The nuclear risk comes from terrorists. Obama’s and the UN’s anti-proliferation policy does virtually nothing to stop terrorists from acquiring atomic bombs.
“Ironically, my primary election opponent Mark Kirk may not realize he is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s best friend in Congress. Kirk promotes ridiculous legislative proposals to raise money from pro-Israel campaign supporters. But the reality of Kirk's shenanigans is that they undermine, not enhance, Israel’s security.
“Kirk now wants to restrict refine gasoline sales to Iran. The Kirkster seems to forget it was efforts to limit Japan’s access to gasoline that was one of the contributing factors to World War II.
“By proffering outlandish legislative enactments to raise pro-Israel campaign cash, Mark Kirk is undermining American foreign policy and endangering Israel’s security.
“Domestic political fund raising and foreign policy often run on contradictory tracks. Kirk wants to raise campaign cash for himself even if he endangers Israel in the process. His hypocrisy is astounding. That both the media and gullible contributors fall for his appeal demonstrates the disconnect between the reality of foreign policy and unreal world of domestic politics.
“Here is the bottom line: first, Kirk's political fund raising fosters legislative tactics that endanger Israel. Israeli intelligence professionals know my approach is pragmatic but correct. Unfortunately, Israeli experts are as much prisoners of politics as America’s own intelligence services are.
“Second, Obama’s ‘vaporware’ on nuclear proliferation does nothing but undermine world confidence in his leadership. His genuflection to Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu over Obama’s demand for a freeze on settlements will boomerang on both Israel and Obama. Obama’s capitulation may have inflicted a fatal blow on his credibility throughout the Middle East.
“Third, the road to peace is paved with less bellicosity and hostility, not more. Unless America is going to become a nation that is perpetually at war with people we dislike, we must encourage others to act responsibly and offer incentives, not sanctions, as the means to peace and stability. We cannot allow the United States to become a world dictatorship that seeks to dominate every country we disagree with.
“Fifty years of sanctions have failed in Cuba. They failed in Iraq. Why would they work anywhere else? It is either ignorance or racism to believe that Iranians will be less loyal to their nation under siege, even a nation led by an undemocratic and repressive regime. Kirk’s plans to destabilize Iran will actually empower the ayatollahs and boost Ahmadinejad’s support at home.
“Fourth, Kirk’s extreme proposal to strip Iran of refined gasoline will only increase tensions, not reduce them. Increased tensions almost inevitably lead to the increased chance of a tragic mistake. Twenty-one years ago, the United States mistakenly shot down an Iranian airliner, killing innocent civilians. A few months later, Pan Am 103 was attacked.
“Kirk claims to be an 'intelligence officer' but he did not have the intelligence to see through Saddam Hussein. He is now repeating his prior blunders by promising that hostile acts against Iran will intimidate that nation. Kirk’s fandango may be great campaign fund raising but it is destructive foreign policy.
“The practical significance of Kirk’s legislative agenda would benefit the Ahmadinejad regime. Thus, Kirk's mendacity undermines our national security. He has no business being a candidate for the U. S. Senate. Anyone who contributes cash or support to Mark Kirk is helping undermine America’s national security and bolster the Iranian regime. That’s the harsh but unavoidable truth,” Martin will charge Monday.
“Illinois needs a strong, experienced foreign policy voice in Washington. I am the only Republican candidate with a proven track record of analyzing and interpreting America’s long-term foreign policy interests. My reputation for credibility and independence is worldwide, not statewide.”

Paul Caprio and Caprio’s “Mortimer Snerd Senate candidate” Pat Hughes for opposing an extension of unemployment benefits.
Martin will then head to Lake Forest for a confrontation with his opponent Mark Kirk.
“I have only met Pat Hughes once,” Martin will state,” and he seems like a nice person. I bear him no personal ill will. But Hughes has no more basis to run for national office than I have to perform brain surgery. Come to think of it, I might be a better brain surgeon than Hughes is at politics.
“Hughes’ major problem is that he only ‘discovered’ the Republican Party last year, voting Republican for the first time in his life in 2008. Then he ‘discovered’ he was qualified to be a statewide candidate for national office. Wow.
“Sadly, Illinois voters, and especially Republican voters, are ‘discovering’ Pat Hughes is nothing more than a campaign dummy for puppeteer D. Paul Caprio. The unemployment issue is a classic example of Hughes' incompetence.

“Hughes’ stock speech begins by remembering his parents’ financial struggles and lower-income background. Then Hughes segues to his ‘successful role’ as a ‘real estate developer’ (his company may be bankrupt and at a minimum is probably insolvent) as well as his stellar legal career (he came out of the starting blocks with one of the worst speeches anyone has ever seen, particularly from someone who claims to be an ‘outstanding lawyer’).
“Hughes manages to make even Mark Kirk look good.
“My mother was on unemployment for a time. A close friend used the benefits recently. My mom used her unemployment money to buy groceries and pay the rent. I have no doubt there are some slackers on the unemployment lines. But the vast majority of recipients are honest citizens, our neighbors, struggling in a down economy.
“The bad economy is a product of both Democratic and Republican mismanagement. Lest we forget, George Bush was in office from 2001-2009. Budgets became bloated, deficits soared. Despite the fact that Bush warned about subprime excesses, he never took on the Democrats in a battle for economic sanity. Republican wisdom about the current recession is largely based on hindsight. My personal honesty and integrity compels that statement of fact.
“We should always try to help our fellow citizens in distress.
“Mark Kirk and I do not agree that often, because he is a true liberal and I am a true conservative (not a ‘Caprio conservative’). While I am not familiar with the details of the unemployment law that is before congress I would have supported an extension of benefits.
“Being a true conservative means helping people. Being a committed Christian means offering real help, not just vapid promises and a solitary focus on abortion-related issues. Last year, I wrote that I agreed with Mike Huckabee that ‘My Faith is My Life.’ Well, my faith is my life, and both my faith and my life are works in progress.
“I am absolutely opposed to wasteful spending. Fraud artists should be prosecuted and imprisoned. But I truly believe that a government which has found trillions of dollars to bail out corporations can find money to help unemployed families in distress.
“Because Mr. Hughes is a classic ‘chumbolone’ candidate, he has absolutely no idea what he is talking about. A campaign for statewide federal office is not a place for rookies. Hughes uses a de facto earpiece to parrot what D. Paul Caprio tells him to say. Caprio, in turn, is not interested in beating Democrats. Rather, Caprio wants to use Hughes as a dummy to raise money for Caprio’s own purposes. The result is that Republicans are increasingly embarrassed by Caprio-Hughes’ Scrooge-like approach to helping working families.
“My mother is retired today. But she worked all of her life, and I look to her for inspiration. Pat Hughes may like to tell stories about his parents’ economic struggles; sadly, he has forgotten lessons he should have learned from their challenges.
“One of the things that makes America great is that we do everything we can to help each other. We have a weak economy; and Illinois is suffering worse than most. As Senator I will do everything in my power to see that unemployed workers are given reasonable assistance.
“Economic distress can generate other social costs. The consequences of denying aid and doing nothing can include domestic violence, divorce, child abuse and other social pathologies. We can't let that happen, not in Illinois and not in the United States. And not while I am Illinois' U. S. Senator.
“Pat Hughes should step down as a candidate before he embarrasses himself and his supporters any further,” Martin will state.
“But I do have some good news for Hughes: he has a great career ahead of him in stand-up comedy. His attack on Mark Kirk, claming Kirk ‘is someone who acts like a politician, who does things based on political aspirations and not in what he truly believes in,’ defines Hughes’ own comic campaign. (LAKE FOREST, IL)(September 25, 2009) Republican U. S. Senate candidate and insurgent “Internet Powerhouse” Andy Martin will confront Mark Kirk at a function of the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Women’s Republican Club Saturday, September 26th.
Martin charges that Mark Kirk’s tainted “Beltway Dollars” from Washington lobbyists are corrupting the 2010 primary. “Why are Republican leaders disenfranchising an entire group of Senate candidates to favor Mark Kirk?” Martin will ask. “Because Kirk paid Republicans $50,000 in ‘corrupt cash.’ Kirk is the new George Ryan.”
Martin will be in Lake Forest soliciting signatures for his campaign and attacking Kirk for engaging in “pay to play” with the corrupt leadership of the Illinois Republican Party.
“I have some questions for Markie Kirk,” Martin says. “I am delighted we have both been invited to the Women’s Republican Club function, so I can confront the Markster with his bribery of Illinois Republican leaders. Previous episodes of pay-to-play destroyed the Republican Party. Some so-called ‘leaders’ have not learned their lesson. They are back grabbing Kirk’s ‘dirty dollars.’
“People say Kirk ‘raises a lot of campaign cash.’ Of course he does. He sells his vote to Exelon and other special interests. It’s easy to raise money if you’re a thief. You steal from working people and sell their vote to the highest hedge fund bidder.
“Republican Party leaders are rigging campaign events, harassing opposing U. S. Senate candidates and in general acting more in conformity with Iranian ayatollahs than traditional level-playing-field Republicans. They are having a ‘Convention’ Saturday in which only Kirk is allowed to speak, and in which the other Senate candidates opposing him are being silenced.
“Americans are dying in Afghanistan to protect this kind of sleazy politics here at home? I don’t think so. This would not be happening if John McCain was still alive.
“The Illinois Republican Party has been corrupted by Kirk’s Kash. For shame.
“On Saturday Mr. Kirk and I will discuss why he can’t be a credible candidate for statewide office when he engages in pay-to play. Lake Forest could be a very interesting place this Saturday evening. Mr. Kirk owes every Illinois Republican answers. I aim to ask the questions.”
Martin will conduct a 4:30 P.M. news conference on the west side of the Lake Forest Metra station to attack Kirk and his pay-to-play machinations.

Martin charges that Mark Kirk’s tainted “Beltway Dollars” from Washington lobbyists are corrupting the 2010 primary. “Why are Republican leaders disenfranchising an entire group of Senate candidates to favor Mark Kirk?” Martin will ask. “Because Kirk paid Republicans $50,000 in ‘corrupt cash.’ Kirk is the new George Ryan.”
Martin will be in Lake Forest soliciting signatures for his campaign and attacking Kirk for engaging in “pay to play” with the corrupt leadership of the Illinois Republican Party.
“I have some questions for Markie Kirk,” Martin says. “I am delighted we have both been invited to the Women’s Republican Club function, so I can confront the Markster with his bribery of Illinois Republican leaders. Previous episodes of pay-to-play destroyed the Republican Party. Some so-called ‘leaders’ have not learned their lesson. They are back grabbing Kirk’s ‘dirty dollars.’
“People say Kirk ‘raises a lot of campaign cash.’ Of course he does. He sells his vote to Exelon and other special interests. It’s easy to raise money if you’re a thief. You steal from working people and sell their vote to the highest hedge fund bidder.
“Republican Party leaders are rigging campaign events, harassing opposing U. S. Senate candidates and in general acting more in conformity with Iranian ayatollahs than traditional level-playing-field Republicans. They are having a ‘Convention’ Saturday in which only Kirk is allowed to speak, and in which the other Senate candidates opposing him are being silenced.
“Americans are dying in Afghanistan to protect this kind of sleazy politics here at home? I don’t think so. This would not be happening if John McCain was still alive.
“The Illinois Republican Party has been corrupted by Kirk’s Kash. For shame.
“On Saturday Mr. Kirk and I will discuss why he can’t be a credible candidate for statewide office when he engages in pay-to play. Lake Forest could be a very interesting place this Saturday evening. Mr. Kirk owes every Illinois Republican answers. I aim to ask the questions.”

I understand that the Crook County Republicans are holding a “convention” this weekend. Sadly you are lending your good name to this fraudulent enterprise.
I call on you to call for an end to rigged speaking arrangements and to stop your munchkins, beginning with sleazy Eloise Gerson on down to Lee Roupas, Jon Blessing and the rest, to refrain from making a joke of the Republican Party.
I have lost count of how many Republicans are running for the U. S. Senate. There was a bunch of them in Springfield last month. I’m the only one Kirk & Co. are afraid of.
But at the so-called “Cook County Convention” this weekend only Mark Kirk is apparently being allowed to speak:

Gerson and Roupas learned these dirty tricks at the feet of Andy McKenna. If you participate in their scummy shenanigans you are just as guilty as they are of gutter politics. You are compromising your role as a new party leader.
Every candidate for the U. S. Senate should be treated equally. There is a campaign on. There are a number of people campaigning actively. Favoring one candidate, who gave you $50,000, reeks of pay-to-play.
Pay-to-play, and the arrogance that accompanied that practice in the Republican Party, destroyed Republicans in Illinois. Remember George Ryan? But here you are back participating in the same kind of rigged events. Why?
Why are you insulting all of the other senate candidates? This latest maneuver is a replay of the same slimy tactics that Roupas and Gerson used at a “Young Republicans” meeting last month. (A lawsuit will eventually come out of both events; pay-to-play is illegal.)
An awful lot of people gave you a chance at a “fresh start” for the Republican Party when you took over in August. But all we see is the same old faces and the same old dirty tactics. Moreover, as a lawyer, you should know that dirty tricks eventually backfire and boomerang on the perpetrator, as indeed they eventually will on you, the party and Kirk.
Just remember, if you run a dirty campaign for your candidate, you can’t complain when the dirt comes flying back at you. It will.
Why jeopardize yourself and your good name for anyone? I can’t understand why someone as intelligent as you are would stoop to participate in Gerson’s, Roupas’ and Blessing’s dirt.
Because you have personally endorsed Kirk, there is also an actual, not potential, conflict of interest in the actions taking place under your supervision. Instead of seeking to appear fair and impartial, it seems to me you are jumping right into the muck. Can you explain to me why that is?
You should just tell these thugs (Gerson, Roupas, Blessing, etc.) that you will refuse to participate in any event that does not treat all Senate candidates fairly or that is blatantly rigged in Kirk’s favor.

“Saturday we will be having an additional event, very possibly in Effingham, before attending a Republican Party function.
“In 2008 I carried or nearly carried forty (40) Illinois counties and received a quarter of a million votes. I am the only Republican candidate for U. S. Senator who has actually run statewide. And although I currently live in Chicago, my original roots are in Champaign, where my mother came as a graduate student, bringing her family with her.
“When I came to Illinois as a 17 year-old, the first Illinois town I set foot in was Effingham. I can still remember that evening vividly.
“Unlike all of my opponents in both parties, I have actually been the catalyst for major highway construction downstate. I don’t just promise; I produce.
“Our first campaign swing in Southern Illinois will be guided by performance first and politics second. Between now and October 2-3 we will schedule meetings, set specific times and dates, and begin the work of bringing this great state together. ‘One Illinois’ is my slogan; one Illinois is my goal.”

(CHICAGO)(September 16, 2009) Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin brings his surging senate campaign to the Peoria-area Thursday with a series of three events:
First, Martin will conduct a “Meet and Greet” for Republicans who want to meet the senate candidate, at the Mark Twain Hotel in downtown Peoria from 7:00 A.M. to 8:30 A.M.
All Republicans are invited!
Second, Andy will hold a Town Hall meeting on Peoria’s future transportation needs. He supports expedited links between the Peoria, Chicago and St. Louis metropolitan areas. Details on the location of the town meeting will be provided later today.
Finally, Martin will march in the Central Illinois Tea Party Patriots procession from the U. S. Courthouse to the Peoria County Courthouse, starting at 11:00 A.M.
“I can’t commend central Illinois patriots enough for remembering Constitution Day,” Martin said Tuesday, September 15th. “Constitution Day is a forgotten holiday in American history but it was one of the most significant events in our republic. On September 17, 1787, American patriots signed the new Constitution and created a nation governed by limited federal powers, and an explicit separation of powers.
“We know the founders did a good job, because we have only had to amend the Constitution a handful of times over the ensuing centuries.
“Of course we still have a healthy debate about what the constitution means. That’s all to the good. Ultimately our Constitution is both an enabler and protector of our ‘inalienable rights’ mentioned in the Declaration of Independence.
“Often we mistakenly think only of judges as protectors of the Constitution. But the Constitution clearly vests all three branches of government with a role in interpreting and implementing the document. Judges play a critical role, but they do not play the only role. U. S. Senators also have work to do, ensuring that our modern laws are faithful to the Constitution,” Martin said
Martin will issue media availability updates and locations for his Town Hall meeting later Wednesday, September 18th.
Martin will arrive in Peoria Wednesday evening to prepare for Thursday’s events.

What’s the surprise?
The counter-revolution has begun.
On February 10, 2007 my Internet newspaper, ContrarianCommentary.com produced the first psychological profile of Barack Obama. Among other conclusions, we stated “He learned to avoid conflict, not fight…inside he will still be the pied piper of powerlessness…his default state of mind, is to evade, conceal, avoid—and escape…his approach to dealing with his adversaries will ultimately come to be seen as weak.” (You can read out complete psychological profile in the book “Obama: The Man behind The Mask,” to buy see below).
Saturday, an Op-Ed columnist in the New York Times echoed our nearly three-year-old analysis: “[T]he political environment in which he must operate…requires a fighter. But I’m not sure that that’s this president.”

Well, now we know.
The tens or hundreds of thousands of FreedomWorks and “Tea Party” protesters in Washington Saturday sealed Obama’s fate. The protesters came to Washington to make history. And they did. Not since the biblical Joshua’s horn brought down the walls of Jericho has a decline been so painfully public. Obama said in 2007 he was part of the “Joshua Generation.” In reality he is a Joshua-in-reverse. Joshua conquered through faith; Obama lacks faith and is being slaughtered.
Obama was “talking tough” last Wednesday. But is he tough? Charles Blow and I agree. Barry O is, well, Barry O. He may be the titular commander-in-chief, and offer limp salutes to his Marine helicopter crew. But Obama is no commander.
Democrats have done it again. They elected a wuss.
Barack Obama was a bold warrior as long as he had George W. Bush to run against. But Bush is long gone. Bush’s legacy? He left Obama behind.
In Afghanistan, Democrats are already crafting a cut-and-run scenario. Iraq? We’re outta there. And so it goes. The sun is temporarily setting on the American Empire.
Our economy? Obama will leave us in rags. The dollar? Shredded. Employment? Burger flipping, anyone? Obama is setting us to become a wholly-owned subsidiary of China, Inc.
OK, enough Obama bashing.
Where does that leave the Republicans?
The Republican Party is still disorganized and disoriented. We lack a credible national leader. Sadly, the “survivors” of last year’s electoral debacle were the “Beltway Bandits” in Congress who seek to amass more and more campaign contributions, cater more and more to special interests, and leave the party ideologically sundered.
The amorality of the Beltway Bandits ensures that the national Republican Party will remain adrift despite Obama's decline. Do you remember when Republicans were the majority? When Karl Rove said there was a “permanent majority?” Try to remember.
Scarily, there is no Republican Party to catch Humpty Dumpty Obama’s fall. There is no safety net. Perilous times are ahead.
During the Clinton years we had a weak executive and a strong (Republican) congress. And Clinton still got it wrong on major foreign policy issues. Republicans owned all the real estate during most of the Bush years, and they made a mess of the Republic.
Is it any wonder that ordinary people are disgusted? That FreedomWorks and Tea Party protesters have taken to the streets to say “enough?”
It’s no surprise to me.

This event is not a "healthcare" rally. It is a crass attempt to unlawfully and improperly use DuPage GOP funds to boost the candidacy of my primary opponent Mark Kirk. If there is one thing people do not need right now it is another “healthcare rally.” We have been inundated with rallies, town hall meetings and every which kind of meeting about “health care” all summer.
So why is Dan Cronin assembling a crowd to, in his own words, call DuPagers to “rally around their leaders?”

I can understand why Cronin would want to promote Reps. Peter Roskam and Judy Biggert. Both represent DuPage County in Congress. But Mark Kirk? Kirk’s district is many miles away from DuPage County. The “healthcare rally” is really an illegal sham event designed to avoid reporting DuPage County GOP expenditures for Kirk as contributions to his senate campaign.
Cronin is trying to violate campaign laws by disguising a political contribution to Kirk as a “rally” for “healthcare.” Most DuPage Republicans despise Kirk; Cronin is trying to undermine that opposition by giving Kirk his own Cronin-orchestrated love fest. At party expense.
When contributors give money to the DuPage County Republican Party, they expect those contributions to be used to support conservative-to-moderate causes, not to rouge up extreme, pro-infanticide liberal Mark Kirk as a “conservative.”
Will Cronin’s gambit work? Are DuPage Republicans that dumb? I don't think so. But Cronin’s cynicism makes him unfit to lead the party. A leader who lies to his followers, and uses legerdemain to violate federal and state campaign laws, is not a leader at all. He is a gangster.
Has Cronin scheduled forums for gubernatorial or senatorial candidates? Nothing at all. He’s too busy for that. I carried almost forty counties in the statewide primary last year, and received almost a quarter of a million votes. I am within striking distance of defeating Kirk. Cronin and his cronies can’t deal with that.

If I win the primary, we will see the dawn of a new day. Lee Newcom once again misstates the basis of my legal threat to IllinoisReview.com.

I have never threatened Illinois Review for allowing criticism of me or my campaign. Never.
What I have threatened to do is sue because Illinois Review allows criticism of me to appear, and then censors or “locks out” my responses to the criticism.
I don’t see how Mr. Newcom would want to deny me the right to reply when people attack me. That seems to be elemental fairness.
There is a lot of criticism among Republicans and conservatives that some people are "banned” from IR. I do not take a stand on what people do. But I do know that if you allow people to publish critical and factually unfounded remarks, as IR has done in my case, then you need to allow the target of the remarks to post a reasonable response.
That is all I have asked IR to do, and IR has refused to do that. IR prefers instead to create a bogeyman about a nonexistent threat to sue about “criticism." I say “criticize away;” just let me reply. Is that too much to ask of a conservative publication?
I hope Mr. Newcom will familiarize himself with the facts before he makes an implied criticism of my position.

Newcom says his earlier column “praised” my opponents in the primary. I am sure they did not appreciate his faint praise. In reality, Newcom panned my opponents as not being ready for prime time. My characterization of Newcom’s writing is fair commentary.

(CHICAGO)(September 11, 2009) I don’t know what makes John Newcom tick, have never spoken to him and, other than the most cursory check on Google, have no idea who he is. He writes for the IllinoisReview.com, an organization that is terrified I could win the Republican Senate primary and change the face of politics in Illinois.
But this week Newcom performed a valuable service for every Illinois Republican seeking a realistic alternative to Mark Kirk in the 2010 primary. He demolished all of my other opponents.
Newcom is no friend of mine and probably does not understand or respect my own vast resume of experience. But he sure knows who the other candidates are, and one-by-one he declares them to be a bunch of chumbolones. Newcom has seen these people up close; he “moderated” one of the secret conservative “debates” that was held during the summer. Thus, Newcom speaks with personal knowledge when he condemns the inexperience of these aspirants.
I have been especially critical of one candidate, Pat Hughes, whom I have accused of being a “front” for D. Paul Caprio. Here is what Newcom says about Hughes: “Two political consultants are telling [Hughes] he can win and are keeping him in it. They are wrong but have a personal interest in keeping this spitting into the wind alive because, one in particular, sees the money.” Thus, Newcom completely confirms my allegations about Hughes. He is a dupe as well as a dope.
On his web site, Hughes claims he has “vast experience in public speaking, debate and ‘retail’ politics.” Anyone who heard Hughes’ speeches in Springfield and Bloomington knows this claim is delusional. Once again, Newcom slips the knife into Hughes, stating “…although he needs to loosen up a bit and learn to better judge an audience and venue. This is where some political experience would be very valuable.” Hughes voted in a Republican primary for the first time in 2008. Now he wants to be a U. S. Senator.
Newcom is somewhat tenderer to the other candidates but his conclusions are equally terminal. None of them have the “plan, money and political organization or name recognition to beat Kirk.”
My campaign does. That is why my primary opponents, Kirk’s dirty tricksters and Obama’s own mud merchants are focused on trying to defeat me in the primary.
Kirk knows that Illinoisans are fed up with corruption. He fears my forty-year record of successfully exposing and fighting corruption [www.AndyMartin.com]. No other candidate in either party can make that claim.
In the wake of Newcom’s obituaries for my other opponents we are doing a little reworking of http://www.andyforussenator.com/. The job is not done, and is definitely a work-in-progress. Tell us what you think. We are running a cooperative, collaborative campaign.
I am not asking any other candidate not to run. Anyone who feels a need to run, should run. That’s life.

The proliferation of “anti-Kirk” candidates may be a phenomenon that is being orchestrated by the pro-Kirk “Combine,” to make it more difficult for someone to defeat Kirk. Lee Newcom probable senses this negative dynamic.
My performance on television is highly respected by people who have seen me debate on Channel 7. I am not a rookie, or someone who is untested.

Recently, someone acting for Obama or Kirk or both (Kirk is really a Democratic stalking horse in the Republican Party) stole my Obama birth certificate tapes from a conference we conducted in Washington, DC. Who is devoting so much effort to stealing my tapes? Obama and Kirk recognize the most powerful Republican nominee for Senator in 2010 is Andy Martin.
Some people don’t know me, and dislike my style. That is their privilege. You can’t please everyone. But people who know me or who have spoken with me, understand that I am precisely the kind of candidate who can execute the strategy necessary to defeat the Democrats in 2010. I am a Midwestern conservative, not a right-wing ideologue.
So don’t be a wuss. Pick up the phone, call me, and chat. Because we are in the early stages of the campaign, I am not as busy as I will be later. I try to answer my own phone. And I will try to answer my own phone as a U. S. Senator.

Recently, someone acting for Obama or Kirk or both (Kirk is really a Democratic stalking horse in the Republican Party) stole my Obama birth certificate tapes from a conference we conducted in Washington, DC. Who is devoting so much effort to stealing my tapes? Obama and Kirk recognize the most powerful Republican nominee for Senator in 2010 is Andy Martin.
Some people don’t know me, and dislike my style. That is their privilege. You can’t please everyone. But people who know me or who have spoken with me, understand that I am precisely the kind of candidate who can execute the strategy necessary to defeat the Democrats in 2010. I am a Midwestern conservative, not a right-wing ideologue.
So don’t be a wuss. Pick up the phone, call me, and chat. Because we are in the early stages of the campaign, I am not as busy as I will be later. I try to answer my own phone. And I will try to answer my own phone as a U. S. Senator.
I will work to earn the vote of every anti-Kirk Republican in the 2010 primary. I would like to earn yours.
Lee Newcom told my other primary opponents the unpleasant truth. They can’t run to win. They are free to run, but they lack the experience and resources to win.
I can beat Mark Kirk in the primary. Mark Kirk knows that.

Andy Martin’s lawsuit against the Washington Post
In an Illinois lawsuit, Martin details his accusations against the individuals who have stolen his intellectual property:

COMPLAINT
Introduction
The 1972 Watergate Conspiracy began as a “third-rate burglary,” and culminated in a national scandal exposed by the Washington Post. This lawsuit arises out of a mini-Watergate scandal, in which a small—time huckster and extortionist, Scott Shirley, has combined with Plaintiff’s political opposition to harass Plaintiff’s professional and political activity using Maryland judges as adjuncts to the criminal conspiracy. At this time, the full dimensions and all of the identities of the co-conspirators are unknown. In due course, they will be exposed. This time, rather than exposing the conspiracy, the Washington Post appears to be part of the political machinations to violate the law.
COUNT ONE
[OWNERSHIP CLAIM]
1. Jurisdiction and venue
a. This court has general common law jurisdiction of the controversy.
b. Substantially all of the operative activity of the defendants is targeted at and “purposefully directed” against the Plaintiff in Illinois. Therefore, this Court has personal jurisdiction.
2. The parties
a. Plaintiff Andy Martin (“Plaintiff”) is a candidate for United States Senator. He is a world-respected Internet publisher and columnist, see e.g. ContrarianCommentary.com. Martin is Illinois’ most durable and independent corruption fighter (see http://www.andymartin.com/) and has helped send corrupt politicians and judges to jail.
b. Defendant Washington Post Company and its employee Daniel Morse are involved in some fashion with defendant Scott Shirley, as well as possibly other Kirk/Obama-related defendants, in a civil conspiracy directed at Plaintiff in Illinois.
c. Defendant Scott Shirley, d/b/a ADR Productions, is involved in both a civil and criminal conspiracy to harass and obstruct Plaintiff’s professional and political activity, as set forth in this Complaint.
d. Google, Inc. is the owner of YouTube and has been broadcasting Shirley's bogus attack ad, using Plaintiff’s pirated intellectual property on the Internet.
e. John Gilchrist, a/k/a John Borlaza, is a person whose full role in the matters sub judice is still not clear.
f. Montgomery County, Maryland is a defendant based on the failure of the county to protect Plaintiff’s right to file a consumer complaint without fear of harassment from the corrupt governmental structure of the county.
g. John J. McCarthy is the State Attorney of Montgomery County, and has refused to investigate the violations of Plaintiff’s rights by Shirley and others.
h. John Doe agent of Mark Kirk, and/or Barack Hussein Obama, is a person or persons unknown whose identity will be revealed during the course of this lawsuit.
i. William G. Simmons, Eugene Wolfe and Cheryl McCally are “chumbolone” members of the district court in Montgomery County who have been aiding and abetting Shirley in his extortion and harassment scheme against the Plaintiff.
3. Factual allegations
a. The Washington Conference involving Barack Obama
A. Plaintiff organized an April 3-4, 2009 Washington, DC conference concerning Barack Obama and his missing birth certificate [see www.NationalConferenceonObama.blogspot.com].
B. At some point Plaintiff was contacted by defendant John Gilchrist/John Borlaza (hereinafter “Gilchrist/Borlaza”) who asked if Plaintiff had made arrangements to tape his conference.
C. Gilchrist/Borlaza offered to pay to tape Plaintiff’s conference. While Plaintiff does not remember all of the details of the contacts with Gilchrist/Borlaza, it was agreed between Plaintiff and Gilchrist/Borlaza that Gilchrist/Borlaza would find someone to tape Plaintiff's conference and assume the cost of said taping, but that the conference and the product of the conference belonged to Plaintiff.
D. At no time did Gilchrist/Borlaza claim to own either Plaintiff’s intellectual property (the conference) or the evidence of that property (the tapes).
E. Gilchrist/Borlaza apparently hired defendant Scott Shirley (“Shirley”) to tape the conference. Plaintiff met Shirley at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC and Shirley could not have been more cordial and cooperative.
F. After the conference ended, and while final editing was being discussed, Shirley prepared a “trailer” or prevue from Plaintiff's copyrighted material. In fact, as set forth in Exhibit A, Plaintiff said the following to Shirley: “Could you please add the copyright sign and notice copyright by Andy Martin 2009 on the trailer...John and I agreed that I would hold the copyright rights to the material. The same notice should go on any and all of the segments we post on the net.” (Exhibit A).
G. Shirley replied “Andy, Here’s the link for the video with changes (Donate to…and © copyright…).(Exhibit A).
H. The ownership of the copyright for Plaintiff’s materials is not in dispute.
b. The Conference editing process and new work
A. Shirley’s “trailer,” which he is now misusing in violation of his contractual responsibilities, was an excellent piece of work.
B. Plaintiff spoke with Shirley on the phone about editing a Hawai’i film that he was producing in May, and Shirley unhesitatingly agreed. Plaintiff had no reason to suspect Shirley was a crook, crackpot or double agent for Kirk/Obama.
C. Gilchrist/Borlaza asked Plaintiff to edit the Conference tapes and Shirley sent Plaintiff the approximately two hours of tapes to edit. Plaintiff did so and returned his copies to Shirley.
D. On May 15th, Plaintiff e-mailed Shirley and said “I have two tapes from Honolulu…” (Exhibit B)
E. Shirley replied “You may send the tapes however you see fit…I will look for them. I hope your trip was a successful one. (Exhibit B, 2 pages).
F. On May 20, 2009 Plaintiff e-mailed Shirley(Exhibit C, 2 pages) “Hi Scott—Is it possible you can make a copy and send the [Hawai’i] originals back to me…Re: April, Washington, DC conference—do you have a rough date when you can finish editing?...I want to give you all the time you need to do a good creative job…”
G. Shirley replied (Exhibit C), “I will make copies as soon as my computer is freed up…The first project should be done next week if everything goes well. I’m sorry for the delay…I have no problem with the added work…With regards to the Hawai’i project...”
H. Shirley and Plaintiff had previously spoken and Plaintiff had agreed to bear any cost overruns.
I. In July, 2009, Shirley said the “first project” was nearly completed and would be ready “next week.”
J. Shirley never completed any project, never made any copies and never rendered any bill to Plaintiff.
K. Plaintiff became increasingly concerned, and eventually increasingly suspicious, as Shirley became unreachable, refusing to respond to phone calls or e-mails.
c. Scott Shirley begins acting bizarrely
A. At no time was Plaintiff ever in the State of Maryland, and the only communication Plaintiff had with Shirley related to his non-performance of a contract and Plaintiff’s desire to seek the return of his property.
B. When Shirley did not return phone calls or respond to e-mails concerning the missing tapes, Plaintiff eventually complained to Montgomery County Maryland (Exhibit D) and the Greater Washington Better Business Bureau (“BBB”)(Exhibit E).
C. Shirley responded to Plaintiff’s complaints with a bizarre and delusional letter, Exhibit F, and the filing of a bogus “peace bond” claim predicated on Plaintiff’s BBB/Montgomery County consumer complaints.
d. Maryland judges enter the picture
A. No reasonable person could listen to Shirley’s claims without realizing that he was seeking to create a controversy to escape his contractual obligations and to resell Plaintiff’s property for a higher price to corrupt representatives of Mark Kirk and/or Barack Hussein Obama.
B. Shirley’s own “complaint” to the defendants admitted he was responding to Plaintiff’s complaint to the BBB (Exhibit E).
C. In his detailed multiple responses to the BBB Shirley never made any claim that he had ever been threatened in any way by Plaintiff.
D. Shirley knew what he was doing when he went shopping for judges in the highly partisan Democratic Party-dominated Maryland judiciary.
E. The defendants then began demanding that Plaintiff suspend his campaign for the U. S. Senate, fly to Washington and attend a kangaroo count session involving accusations by someone whose claims were facially delusional, and appear before one of the corrupt defendants (McCally). McCally, Wolfe and Simmons have since played musical chairs with the controversy.
F. Shirley, through his new sponsors and behind-the-scene political influence from Democrats, was using Maryland’s Democratic judges to politically harass Plaintiff and to attempt to interrupt his Senate campaign with fraudulent proceedings in the Maryland courts.
e. The Washington Post enters the fray
A. On August 25, 2009 Plaintiff received a call from defendant Dan Morse (“Morse”), a Washington Post employee in Rockville, Maryland. While Plaintiff does not recollect Morse’s original call completely, he remembers Morse suggesting Morse had been in the courthouse and stumbled over Plaintiff’s case. Morse gave no indication he had interviewed Shirley, received documents from him or done any research involving Plaintiff.
B. Not knowing that Morse and Shirley had been conspiring by e-mail and otherwise (presumably in person), Plaintiff initially furnished Morse with approximately 90 pages of documents.
C. Morse then recorded a phone call with Plaintiff which ran for over an hour.
D. Rather than being interested in Shirley’s machinations, Morse was interested in defendant Brosemer, whom Morse claimed had told Morse that Plaintiff attacked him (Brosemer). Brosemer’s claim was utterly fictitious, and part of the aftermath of Brosemer’s firing by Scripps-Howard Broadcasting after he attacked Plaintiff at WPTV-TV 13 years ago.
E. Brosemer’s claims to Morse were false and defamatory.
F. After Plaintiff complained to Morse’s editors, Morse called Plaintiff a third time; Morse said he had initially received an e-mail from Shirley a week earlier, as well as some of the same documents that Plaintiff later faxed in good faith.
G. Throughout the lengthy taped conversation(s), Morse was obsessed with peripheral events in Plaintiff’s life going back almost 40, 35 and 25 years, none of which bore the remotest relationship to Shirley’s conspiratorial activity. There was no way Morse’s questions would have fitted in any “news hole” of the Washington Post allocated to the Maryland suburbs.
H. Either knowingly or unknowingly, wittingly or unwittingly, Morse was acting in concert and conspiracy with Shirley, and acting in furtherance of the Kirk/Obama scheme to politically harass Plaintiff’s campaign for the U. S. Senate.
I. Given the opportunity to deny or clarify or explain Morse’s conspiratorial, fraudulent and bizarre “research” spanning decades in Plaintiff’s life, the Washington Post has remained mute and through silence essentially admitted that Morse was acting as a political saboteur and not as a bona fide reporter for the Post.
f. The true purpose of Shirley’s conspiracy is revealed
A. Shortly after coconspirator William Simmons entered yet another bogus order in furtherance of the civil rights conspiracy, Shirley’s missing trailer surfaced on the Internet as an attack video against Plaintiff’s campaign for the U. S. Senate:

B. Shirley used Plaintiff’s property, which Shirley and his coconspirators had stolen from Plaintiff, to attack Plaintiff’s U. S. Senate candidacy.
C. Shirley’s farce in Montgomery County courts had been and continues to be a charade to use Maryland judges as part of Shirley’s political conspiracy to harass and attack plaintiff, initially with bogus legal proceedings and, when that approach failed, with attack ads which were based on the theft and misuse of Plaintiff’s intellectual property.
D. Shirley, who had initially appeared to be an honest businessman performing a helpful service for Plaintiff’s conference, has completed the transformation to crook and political smear artist.
E. Shirley refuses to return Plaintiff’s tapes while continuing to misuse them himself.
F. It is not yet clear with whom Shirley is acting in concert, but his associations will be revealed in due course. Most likely, Shirley has sold himself to agents of defendant Mark Kirk or Barack Hussein Obama, acting individually or in conjunction with Kirk who is Obama’s “favorite Republican.”
G. Gilchrist/Borlaza has disappeared from the scene and may himself have been an Obama operative.
4. Legal claim
a. Shirley is holding Plaintiff’s original tapes and refuses to return them to Plaintiff.
b. On information and belief, no one else claims any copyright or ownership of the tapes.
c. Despite the fact that Shirley makes no claim to ownership of Plaintiff’s tapes, and appears to be a crooked businessman, Shirley has been able to file his perjurious claims with Maryland authorities and enlist the notoriously compromised Maryland judiciary in his Democratic Party/Kirk/Obama dirty tricks campaign against Plaintiff.
d. Plaintiff seeks an order directing Shirley and anyone else with possession of any of Plaintiff’s tapes or copies thereof, which includes the third parties to whom Shirley has given the harassment material, to return the tapes to Plaintiff.
5. Demand for judgment
a. Plaintiff seeks money damages as the Court or a jury may impose, as follows:
A. Money damages from Shirley in the amount of $25,000;
B. Money damages from Brosemer in the amount of $25,000, as well as a finding that Brosemer’s claims were defamatory and without any basis in fact.
b. Plaintiff seeks any and all declaratory and equitable relief to which he may be entitled from all of the defendants, jointly and severally, known and currently unknown (“John Doe agent of Mark Kirk and/or Barack Hussein Obama”).
COUNT TWO
[§§ 1983-1985 CIVIL RIGHTS CONSPIRACY]
1-3. Plaintiff repeats and realleges ¶¶ 1-3 of Count One and further pleads:

a. Federal law protects the right of persons to seek public office, see e.g. 18 U.S.C. § 245 (b)(1)(A).
b. Shirley, who appears to have begun his relationship with Plaintiff acting as an honest local businessman, has morphed into a political crook who is working to corrupt the local judiciary in Maryland and Google, Inc. (YouTube), all as part of someone’s plans to disrupt Plaintiff’s campaign for the U. S. Senate. The dirty tricksters are most likely Kirk’s and/or Obama’s supporters.
c. The actions of the defendants constitute a classic civil rights conspiracy, using bogus legal proceedings and other activity to corrupt local Democratic Party officials in order to harass a federal candidate of the Republican Party, all “under color of” state law.
5. Demand for judgment
Plaintiff seeks any and all relief to which he may be entitled under Count One, not to exceed $70,000 in aggregate money damages.
COUNT THREE

a. Illinois courts have adopted the concept of prima facie tort, see Pendleton v. Time, Inc., 339 Ill.App. 188, 89 N.E.2d 435 (Ill.App. 1st Dist. 1949) as originally recognized in Advance Music v. American Tobacco, 183 Misc. 855, 51 N.Y.S. 692, aff’d 296 N.Y. 79, 70 N.E.2d 401 (N.Y.).
b. The defendants’ ongoing activity is a classic case of prima face tort, because their activity represents the quintessential type of political dirty tricks using judges and corrupt public officials that are universally condemned by American society.

COUNT FIVE
[BREACH OF CONTRACT/THIRD PARTY BENEFICIARY]

a. Throughout the controversy which Shirley has manufactured, Shirley has claimed he only had a “contract” with Gilchrist/Borlaza.
b. In point of fact, District of Columbia law follows traditional third-party beneficiary contract law, Western Union v. Massman Construction, 402 A.2d 1275, 1277 (Dc App. 1979).
c. Although Gilchrest/Borlaza was paying for the work, he did not claim any interest in either the intellectual property or the evidence of the intellectual property (the tapes) that was being created by the Plaintiff.
d. Shirley has constantly cooked up imaginary defenses having no basis in law to frustrate Plaintiff’s contractual ownership rights in the original tapes, all in violation of the three-party contract agreed to between the parties.
e. Plaintiff has a right as a beneficiary to seek possession of his tapes.
5. Demand for Judgment
a. Plaintiff seeks the same relief as sought in Count One.

On May 20, 2009 Plaintiff e-mailed Shirley(Exhibit C, 2 pages) “Hi Scott—Is it possible you can make a copy and send the [Hawai’i] originals back to me…Re: April, Washington, DC conference—do you have a rough date when you can finish editing?...I want to give you all the time you need to do a good creative job…”
G. Shirley replied (Exhibit C), “I will make copies as soon as my computer is freed up…The first project should be done next week if everything goes well. I’m sorry for the delay…I have no problem with the added work…With regards to the Hawai’i project...”
H. Shirley and Plaintiff had previously spoken and Plaintiff had agreed to bear any cost overruns.
I. In July, 2009, Shirley said the “first project” was nearly completed and would be ready “next week.”
J. Shirley never completed any project, never made any copies and never rendered any bill to Plaintiff.
K. Plaintiff became increasingly concerned, and eventually increasingly suspicious, as Shirley became unreachable, refusing to respond to phone calls or e-mails.
c. Scott Shirley begins acting bizarrely
A. At no time was Plaintiff ever in the State of Maryland, and the only communication Plaintiff had with Shirley related to his non-performance of a contract and Plaintiff’s desire to seek the return of his property.
B. When Shirley did not return phone calls or respond to e-mails concerning the missing tapes, Plaintiff eventually complained to Montgomery County Maryland (Exhibit D) and the Greater Washington Better Business Bureau (“BBB”)(Exhibit E).
C. Shirley responded to Plaintiff’s complaints with a bizarre and delusional letter, Exhibit F, and the filing of a bogus “peace bond” claim predicated on Plaintiff’s BBB/Montgomery County consumer complaints.
d. Maryland judges enter the picture
A. No reasonable person could listen to Shirley’s claims without realizing that he was seeking to create a controversy to escape his contractual obligations and to resell Plaintiff’s property for a higher price to corrupt representatives of Mark Kirk and/or Barack Hussein Obama.
B. Shirley’s own “complaint” to the defendants admitted he was responding to Plaintiff’s complaint to the BBB (Exhibit E).
C. In his detailed multiple responses to the BBB Shirley never made any claim that he had ever been threatened in any way by Plaintiff.
D. Shirley knew what he was doing when he went shopping for judges in the highly partisan Democratic Party-dominated Maryland judiciary.
E. The defendants then began demanding that Plaintiff suspend his campaign for the U. S. Senate, fly to Washington and attend a kangaroo count session involving accusations by someone whose claims were facially delusional, and appear before one of the corrupt defendants (McCally). McCally, Wolfe and Simmons have since played musical chairs with the controversy.
F. Shirley, through his new sponsors and behind-the-scene political influence from Democrats, was using Maryland’s Democratic judges to politically harass Plaintiff and to attempt to interrupt his Senate campaign with fraudulent proceedings in the Maryland courts.
e. The Washington Post enters the fray
A. On August 25, 2009 Plaintiff received a call from defendant Dan Morse (“Morse”), a Washington Post employee in Rockville, Maryland. While Plaintiff does not recollect Morse’s original call completely, he remembers Morse suggesting Morse had been in the courthouse and stumbled over Plaintiff’s case. Morse gave no indication he had interviewed Shirley, received documents from him or done any research involving Plaintiff.
B. Not knowing that Morse and Shirley had been conspiring by e-mail and otherwise (presumably in person), Plaintiff initially furnished Morse with approximately 90 pages of documents.
C. Morse then recorded a phone call with Plaintiff which ran for over an hour.
D. Rather than being interested in Shirley’s machinations, Morse was interested in defendant Brosemer, whom Morse claimed had told Morse that Plaintiff attacked him (Brosemer). Brosemer’s claim was utterly fictitious, and part of the aftermath of Brosemer’s firing by Scripps-Howard Broadcasting after he attacked Plaintiff at WPTV-TV 13 years ago.
E. Brosemer’s claims to Morse were false and defamatory.
F. After Plaintiff complained to Morse’s editors, Morse called Plaintiff a third time; Morse said he had initially received an e-mail from Shirley a week earlier, as well as some of the same documents that Plaintiff later faxed in good faith.
G. Throughout the lengthy taped conversation(s), Morse was obsessed with peripheral events in Plaintiff’s life going back almost 40, 35 and 25 years, none of which bore the remotest relationship to Shirley’s conspiratorial activity. There was no way Morse’s questions would have fitted in any “news hole” of the Washington Post allocated to the Maryland suburbs.
H. Either knowingly or unknowingly, wittingly or unwittingly, Morse was acting in concert and conspiracy with Shirley, and acting in furtherance of the Kirk/Obama scheme to politically harass Plaintiff’s campaign for the U. S. Senate.
I. Given the opportunity to deny or clarify or explain Morse’s conspiratorial, fraudulent and bizarre “research” spanning decades in Plaintiff’s life, the Washington Post has remained mute and through silence essentially admitted that Morse was acting as a political saboteur and not as a bona fide reporter for the Post.
f. The true purpose of Shirley’s conspiracy is revealed
A. Shortly after coconspirator William Simmons entered yet another bogus order in furtherance of the civil rights conspiracy, Shirley’s missing trailer surfaced on the Internet as an attack video against Plaintiff’s campaign for the U. S. Senate:

B. Shirley used Plaintiff’s property, which Shirley and his coconspirators had stolen from Plaintiff, to attack Plaintiff’s U. S. Senate candidacy.
C. Shirley’s farce in Montgomery County courts had been and continues to be a charade to use Maryland judges as part of Shirley’s political conspiracy to harass and attack plaintiff, initially with bogus legal proceedings and, when that approach failed, with attack ads which were based on the theft and misuse of Plaintiff’s intellectual property.
D. Shirley, who had initially appeared to be an honest businessman performing a helpful service for Plaintiff’s conference, has completed the transformation to crook and political smear artist.
E. Shirley refuses to return Plaintiff’s tapes while continuing to misuse them himself.
F. It is not yet clear with whom Shirley is acting in concert, but his associations will be revealed in due course. Most likely, Shirley has sold himself to agents of defendant Mark Kirk or Barack Hussein Obama, acting individually or in conjunction with Kirk who is Obama’s “favorite Republican.”
G. Gilchrist/Borlaza has disappeared from the scene and may himself have been an Obama operative.
4. Legal claim
a. Shirley is holding Plaintiff’s original tapes and refuses to return them to Plaintiff.
b. On information and belief, no one else claims any copyright or ownership of the tapes.
c. Despite the fact that Shirley makes no claim to ownership of Plaintiff’s tapes, and appears to be a crooked businessman, Shirley has been able to file his perjurious claims with Maryland authorities and enlist the notoriously compromised Maryland judiciary in his Democratic Party/Kirk/Obama dirty tricks campaign against Plaintiff.
d. Plaintiff seeks an order directing Shirley and anyone else with possession of any of Plaintiff’s tapes or copies thereof, which includes the third parties to whom Shirley has given the harassment material, to return the tapes to Plaintiff.
5. Demand for judgment
a. Plaintiff seeks money damages as the Court or a jury may impose, as follows:
A. Money damages from Shirley in the amount of $25,000;
B. Money damages from Brosemer in the amount of $25,000, as well as a finding that Brosemer’s claims were defamatory and without any basis in fact.
b. Plaintiff seeks any and all declaratory and equitable relief to which he may be entitled from all of the defendants, jointly and severally, known and currently unknown (“John Doe agent of Mark Kirk and/or Barack Hussein Obama”).
COUNT TWO
[§§ 1983-1985 CIVIL RIGHTS CONSPIRACY]
1-3. Plaintiff repeats and realleges ¶¶ 1-3 of Count One and further pleads:

a. Federal law protects the right of persons to seek public office, see e.g. 18 U.S.C. § 245 (b)(1)(A).
b. Shirley, who appears to have begun his relationship with Plaintiff acting as an honest local businessman, has morphed into a political crook who is working to corrupt the local judiciary in Maryland and Google, Inc. (YouTube), all as part of someone’s plans to disrupt Plaintiff’s campaign for the U. S. Senate. The dirty tricksters are most likely Kirk’s and/or Obama’s supporters.
c. The actions of the defendants constitute a classic civil rights conspiracy, using bogus legal proceedings and other activity to corrupt local Democratic Party officials in order to harass a federal candidate of the Republican Party, all “under color of” state law.
5. Demand for judgment
Plaintiff seeks any and all relief to which he may be entitled under Count One, not to exceed $70,000 in aggregate money damages.
COUNT THREE
[CONVERSION]

a. Illinois courts have adopted the concept of prima facie tort, see Pendleton v. Time, Inc., 339 Ill.App. 188, 89 N.E.2d 435 (Ill.App. 1st Dist. 1949) as originally recognized in Advance Music v. American Tobacco, 183 Misc. 855, 51 N.Y.S. 692, aff’d 296 N.Y. 79, 70 N.E.2d 401 (N.Y.).
b. The defendants’ ongoing activity is a classic case of prima face tort, because their activity represents the quintessential type of political dirty tricks using judges and corrupt public officials that are universally condemned by American society.

a. Plaintiff seeks the same relief as sought in Count One.
COUNT FIVE
[BREACH OF CONTRACT/THIRD PARTY BENEFICIARY]
1-3. Plaintiff repeats and realleges ¶¶ 1-3 of Count One and further pleads:

a. Throughout the controversy which Shirley has manufactured, Shirley has claimed he only had a “contract” with Gilchrist/Borlaza.
b. In point of fact, District of Columbia law follows traditional third-party beneficiary contract law, Western Union v. Massman Construction, 402 A.2d 1275, 1277 (Dc App. 1979).
c. Although Gilchrest/Borlaza was paying for the work, he did not claim any interest in either the intellectual property or the evidence of the intellectual property (the tapes) that was being created by the Plaintiff.
d. Shirley has constantly cooked up imaginary defenses having no basis in law to frustrate Plaintiff’s contractual ownership rights in the original tapes, all in violation of the three-party contract agreed to between the parties.
e. Plaintiff has a right as a beneficiary to seek possession of his tapes.
5. Demand for Judgment
a. Plaintiff seeks the same relief as sought in Count One.
